HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have had this printer for several years - has worked very well.  It has gone offline occasionally, but was easily restored.  However, recently the printer went offline and I cannot restore it.  I have followed the suggestions on HP Smart to restore, but nothing has worked.  Power cycled the printer, computer and router.  Checked that the network is the same on both printer and computer, the printer is connected to the network (solid blue indicator light)..nothing seems to resolve the issue.  Can anyone offer a recommendation?

Hi @BT-Utah

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for laying that out so clearly—it’s incredibly frustrating when a reliable printer suddenly refuses to cooperate, especially when everything looks connected.

Since the blue wireless light is solid and you’ve already power cycled all devices, let’s try a few deeper recommended steps to bring your HP Envy Photo 7155 back online:

🛠 1. Remove and Re-add the Printer

Sometimes the connection gets stale and needs a refresh.

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Click your printer > Remove.
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Open the HP Smart app and click Add Printer to reconnect.

🌐 2. Assign a Manual IP Address

If the printer’s IP keeps changing or isn’t resolving properly:

  1. On the printer, print a Network Configuration Page (from Settings > Reports).
  2. Note the current IP address.
  3. Open a browser on your PC and enter that IP to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  4. Go to Network > IPv4 Configuration and set a Manual IP (use the current IP, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and gateway as your router’s IP).
  5. Save and restart the printer.

🧹 3. Clear Print Queue and Restart Print Spooler

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Restart.
  3. Also, clear any stuck jobs in Settings > Printers & scanners.

📥 4. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

If none of these steps bring it back online, let me know what the printer’s IP address is showing and whether it responds when you enter it in a browser. We’ll keep digging until it’s sorted—no more offline surprises!
