I have a HP Envy Photo 7855. I have printed from my mac and scanned documents to my mac from this printer in the past. Today when I tried to scan to my laptop the printer said I needed to download additional software, so I did without uninstalling previous HP drivers. I was able to successfully scan to my mac but when I needed to print from my mac the printer queue says scanner and it won't print. I can't find how to switch to back to printer from my mac. So I uninstalled HP drivers and reinstalled again. Same problem. Then I followed online directions to uninstall properly adding some additional steps I hadn't done before. I've reinstalled the driver and I still have the same problem. Can anyone help me? I'm not very computer savvy. Thanks!

Plus I actually was unable to print the test page when downloading the driver. I was able to do the test scan. Maybe my old macbook pro doesn't support this driver? I wasn't able to download the latest OS since Apple won't support 2011 Mac for later than High Sierra.

@Leslie815, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Have you tried installing the printer using AirPrint driver?
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, check for any software updates on MAC
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
Note: Use Bonjour multifucntion.
6.) Try to print and scan.
Click here to download HP Utility for your MAC.
