I have an envy x360 and it won't communicate with my HP 7500 e910 printer. It was working fine, but suddenly stopped. I also used to be able to print from my Apple i14 phone and it wont print. I've checked the network settings on the printer and it shows it's communicating with the network. My network is named a certain name and the one we used is followed by -5G, but the printer connects to the network name without the -5G. The printer only finds and connects to the network without the -5G. If I enter the network name with the -5G the printer will not find it. Looking for some answers that may help.

Thanks

Welcome to the HP support community

Reset the printer's network settings

  • Touch right arrow , touch Network, touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.

Set up a wireless communication using the Wireless Setup Wizard

1. Set up the printer hardware. See the getting started guide or the setup poster that came with your printer.

2. On the printer control panel, touch right arrow , and then select Network.

3. Touch Wireless, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch OK.

4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Hello Sandy, thanks for getting back to me on this. so I have done the things you have said multiple times and it didn't work. when wirelessly printing the printer always locks in on the APIPA 169 address, when printing with the printer wired directly to the router the printer sees the 192.168 address. I've actually called my internet provider and they were able to see all other devices connected to the network but couldn't see the printer. At that time I didn't have the printer wired to the router, it was wireless and it was not able to be seen from the IP. Are you able to tell me what causes the printer to revert to the APIPA 169 address, and why isn't the printer able to connect using the DHCP protocol. Thanks, Riley.
