Hello,
My printer is HP Ink Tank 410 Wireless
I have set a password in the EWS via my password manager, it contained only the characters accepted by the printer and so met all requirements.
After logging out and logging back in, the password doesn't get accepted, and the prompt opens again, until the session is locked and I have to wait. I'm 100% sure the password is correct as it was copy-pasted in.
I tried to reset the password by holding Network and the X button for 3 seconds, and it reset the Wifi Direct function, but the EWS is still asking for a password, and no combination works (I tried username: admin password: (default printer password), admin + my custom password, admin + nothing nothing + nothing, etc - No combination works, I'm out of ideas.
Is there any way I can reset the EWS, or have the device print out the current EWS password using the buttons on the printer or via the HP SMART App?

Hi @Randomperson000,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Resetting the Embedded Web Server (EWS) password on an HP Ink Tank 410 Wireless printer can be a bit tricky, and it may not always be possible to recover the password directly. However, you can try the following steps.
Factory Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time.
- While holding the buttons, turn on the printer.
- Continue holding the buttons until all the lights blink, indicating a successful reset.
Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
- Confirm the action.
HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your mobile device.
- Connect to your printer.
- Navigate to Printer Settings or a similar option.
- Look for a network-related or security setting where you might be able to update the password.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
