I have an Inspire 7200. Just relocated and have a new network. The printer sees the network but does not recognize the security. I have reset the router and restarted the printer with no success.

@Pete68, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP ENVY Inspire 7200 series printer to your new Wi-Fi network—it sees the network but doesn't recognize the security. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this.

Check Wi-Fi Security Settings

  • Ensure your router is using WPA2 or WPA3 security. HP printers may not support older or mixed security modes like WEP or WPA/WPA2 mixed mode.
  • Access your router settings (usually via a browser at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) and verify the security type and password.

Forget and Reconnect to Network

  • On the printer control panel:
    • Go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Restore Network Settings.
    • Then go to Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your Wi-Fi.
    • Carefully re-enter the Wi-Fi password (case-sensitive).

Use HP Smart App for Setup

  • Download the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.
  • Open the app and select Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi securely.

Update Printer Firmware

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
