Hello. I have an issue with my HP LaserJet M209dw. It was fine and connected to the internet, and one day it displayed an orange light. When I looked deeper into the issue, it said it was the internet connection and something that needed to be resolved in my account. I have tried numerous ways to connect it, but it won't. I have even done a factory reset, but it won't reset. It still blinks orange when it powers on. And now when I want to go to the HP Smart app, the app suddenly has login issues and I can't find my printer on the HP Smart website. I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you,
Bella

Hello again! I have figured out the solution!
I called HP+ customer service, and he was accommodating!
First I reset my printer by pressing the wifi button and "X" button simultaneously.
I went to the HP Smart app (I wasn't signed in) and hid my printer. I added a new printer and went through all of the steps, EXCEPT, I did not click continue for the last step.
Next, I searched the printer's IP address and went to HP Web Services. From there, I enabled a setting. It all had to do with a setting turned off that had to do with the internet disconnection!
I went back to the HP smart app and then pressed "Continue" It did ask for me to try again, but when I did, It finally worked! I was able to re-set up my printer and now it works and will print through all accounts and devices!

Hi @bellam035,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a complex issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the HP LaserJet M209dw with the orange light.
Check Printer Connections:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the power source and that all cables (USB or Ethernet) are securely connected.
Network Issues:
- If the issue is related to the internet connection, make sure your router and network are functioning correctly. Try restarting your router and reconnecting the printer to the network.
- Verify that your printer is connected to the correct network. You can do this via the printer’s control panel or settings menu.
HP Smart App Login:
- If the HP Smart app is having login issues, try logging out and logging back in. Make sure you’re using the correct account credentials.
- Check if there are any updates available for the HP Smart app and install them if needed.
Printer Reset:
- Since you mentioned performing a factory reset, ensure you followed the correct procedure. Refer to the printer's user manual for detailed instructions on how to perform a factory reset properly.
Firmware Update:
- Sometimes, an outdated firmware can cause issues. Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer and apply it if necessary. This can often be done through the HP Smart app or the printer’s web interface.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello. Thank you for your response. However, I have tried everything you have mentioned. I cannot do any firmware update because I cannot go into the HP smart app. I have tried logging off many times, it is even the same issue with someone else's account in my household. There is nothing wrong with my router, I've had if for a couple years now, and my Office Jet printer works just fine. It seems there is an issue with the LaserJet that some other people have as well.
My real concern is that I cannot factory reset my printer. I have tried every technique I found on the web and either it doesn't work on my printer, or my printer just powers off instead of resetting.
