Printer connected directly to laptop via USB. Wireless connection is Off, since using USB.. I have run Print and Scan Dr 5.0.8., but did not help. I have also disabled Windows management of printer as suggested elsewhere.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting printer driver issues, follow these steps to fix the issue.
Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

- Thanks for your earlier reply. I have removed HP Laserjet P1102w and followed as directed below
- Typed printui.exe /s and click OK. Clicked on Drivers tab.
- In list of drivers I found HP Laserjet Mono PCLmS Class Driver . I was unable to delete this: message was "printer driver in use" (note: my printer was off and not connected to my laptop)
- I then did "restart" and selected "download printer driver" as you directed. Downloaded HP-LJP1100_P1560-p1600Full Solution....(10).exe driver and then selected "open"; zip file was extracted. HOWEVER, the driver does not appear in my list of Drivers, and there are no follow-up instructions, such as "install" or "apply" driver, etc !
- Print status shows "Driver unavailable"; Printer will not print Word doc (nothing shows in Queue); However, printer will print a test page! (printer is directly connected via USB to laptop; Status shows Mono PCLmS as driver, while also showing driver unavailable !!!??)
- Please clarify 1/ why I cannot remove the Mono PCLmS driver and then 2/ how to complete installation of LJP1100 driver
- Thanks...Appreciate any help !

Hi SandyTechy20,
Good news...my Laserjet P1102w is now printing!
I repeated the instruction list you posted, including reinstalling printer driver from your link.
The driver shows up as "HP Mono PCLmS class driver" (for some reason, printer status still shows driver as "unavailable"). However, my Word doc printed OK!!
I'm listing your help as successful....thanks again!
PS: don't understand why printer did not print yesterday following same steps...one of the many mysteries of computerworld, I guess!
