Hello!

I have a HP 1536 dnf MFP laserjet printer.

My question: can this wifi printer print without any wifi network? So, have a bulit in wifi hotspot function, and can I connect the own wifi spot of the printer with my smarthone/laptop?

How can I set up this?

Thanks

Hi @laller1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

The HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP is a multifunction printer designed to work with a network connection, typically through a wired Ethernet connection or a wireless Wi-Fi connection. However, if you want to print wirelessly without a traditional Wi-Fi network, you may need to set up an ad-hoc or peer-to-peer wireless network between your computer and the printer. Here's a general outline of the steps to do this:

Check Printer Compatibility: Make sure your HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP supports ad-hoc wireless printing. Not all printers support this feature, so refer to your printer's manual or HP's official website for compatibility information. Click here HP LaserJet Pro M1530 MFP Series User Guide - ENWW

Create an Ad-Hoc Network on Your Computer:

  • On Windows: You can create an ad-hoc network through the "Network and Sharing Center" or "Mobile Hotspot" settings. Search for these options in your Windows settings, and follow the prompts to create a new network.
  • On macOS: You can create an ad-hoc network through the "Create Network" option in the Wi-Fi menu.

Connect Your Printer to the Ad-Hoc Network:

  • Access your printer's settings or control panel.
  • Navigate to the wireless setup or network settings.
  • Look for an option to connect to an ad-hoc network.
  • Select the ad-hoc network you created on your computer.

Install Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the necessary printer drivers installed on your computer. If not, download and install them from the HP website.

Print Wirelessly: Once the printer is connected to your ad-hoc network and the drivers are installed, you should be able to print wirelessly from your computer to the printer as if it were on a regular Wi-Fi network.

If you encounter any difficulties during this process, I recommend you contact Phonne support for remote assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
