I cannot add my HP LaserJet Pro M254dw as a printer to my Mac Laptop running Monterey OS 12.0.1. The printer is added wirelessly the the same 5g network that my laptop is on, but my laptop cannot find the printer to add it.
I had previously been using the Mac laptop and the printer without any problems I recently had to update my router to split the 5g and 2g SSIDs. I added the printer back to the 5g network but I cannot add it to my Mac laptop via wireless set up.
Should I try doing it another way? Perhaps via a wired set up and if so, how would I do that? I cannot use the printer as it is not.
Thanks,
M

I am not, I don't think. I have Altice (Optimum) and I think that they use a Gateway Modem/router.
However are you saying that I can only use the 2g network for printing? Not the 5 g? Maybe that's the issue? previously the 2g/5g networks were somehow combined and I don't know how it figured out which network to use, but it always worked. I was going to download new firmware for the printer and drivers for my Mac, but I had been warned 2 years ago that that might cause it to not work. I had to previously downgrade the HP firmware 2 years ago to get it to work properly.
Thanks!

Yes thats what the BT tech guys told me today. if i wanted to print on wi fi i needed to use the old hub on 2G/4G as the printers do not work on 5g and you cannot split the signal on a new 5G router as its only one signal,
