Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 2 user accounts on my computer. 1 administrator and 1 normal user.

I've installed the HP software recommend. Now the Normal user can use the printer function but not the scan function. The software is unable to find the scanner. HP scan doctor gives a error on de HP Twain for the normal user.

The administrator is able t use al functions.

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Laser MFP printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

Let's try installing the HP Full Feature Software for your printer, then scan using HP MFP Scan, which should allow higher scan resolutions.

Download and install the latest Full Feature Software and printer firmware from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laser-mfp-130-printer-series/24494378/model/2449...

I tried the suggested resolution, but it didn't solve the problem.

Still I need to give the EDC.EXE admin rights. But if I do this still I get prompted for the admin password.
