Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended

Whenever I use HP Smart it says my printer is offline. My printer is not off line it is connected via my Wifi network and I can actually use it to print what I cannot  do is check ink levels etc...

Now when I go to HP Instant Ink it treats me like a new customer and will not display the number of pages that I have printed this month.

Occassionally when I am printing a document it will print the first page a bit of the second page and then stop necessitating me commencing the print job again.

Overall not very happy with this product.

Hi @fu101,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you're experiencing some connectivity issues with the HP Smart app and encountering problems with the Instant Ink service. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.
  • Restart both your printer and your router to refresh the network connection.

Uninstal and reinstall HP Smart App

  • Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your device. Updating the app can help resolve connectivity issues.

Re-add the Printer in HP Smart App

  • Try removing the printer from the HP Smart app and then add it again to re-establish the connection:
  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Go to the "Printers" tab.
  • Select your printer and choose "Remove Printer."
  • Click on "Add Printer" and follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to the app.

Check HP Instant Ink Account

  • Log into your HP Instant Ink account through the official HP website to verify your subscription details.
  • Check if your printer is correctly enrolled under your account and that all account details are up to date.

Firmware Update

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date.
  • Go to the HP Customer Support website, enter your printer model, and download any available firmware updates.

Print a Network Configuration Page

  • Print a network configuration page directly from the printer. This can help ensure that the printer is successfully connected to your network.
  • Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to print this page.

Take care and have an amazing day!
