My HP OFFICE JET PRO 8030 series is stating that my Ethernet cord is not detected but I use wifi. I do turn off the WiFi daily at night. Why would this say something about the Ethernet when I don’t use the Ethernet but I use wifi.

@Angelof5, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 series printer is giving you an unexpected error message. This can happen for a few reasons:
Default Network Setting: The printer might be set to check for an Ethernet connection by default. When it doesn't find one, it shows the error message, even though you're using Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi Disconnection: Since you turn off your Wi-Fi at night, the printer might be losing its connection and defaulting to looking for an Ethernet connection when it can't find the Wi-Fi network.
Firmware or Software Glitch: Sometimes, printers can have minor glitches in their firmware or software that cause incorrect error messages to appear.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:
Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes clear minor glitches.
Check Wi-Fi Settings: Ensure that the Wi-Fi feature on your printer is enabled and properly connected to your network. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel or touch screen menu.
Update Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP support website.
Factory Reset: If the issue persists, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings to their default values, which can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Be sure to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network after the reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
