I have an OfficeJet4655 which I loved. However, 3 months after the warranty expired, it stopped working. When I plug it in, the display screen lights up, but with no Icons displayed. I followed the Virtual Assistant trouble shooting steps (multple times) and the printer is still unresponsive. I have attempted to to go throught HP support to find something, but it is in an endless loop and I end up either with the Virtual assistant or the "community" . I do not expect any useful help from this group. At this point I would like to take it to a HP repair site to see if it can be repaired. I can't even seem to find on the HP site sucha thing!
Note:
I had bought another HP printer (different model), but which is obviously inferior and has been nothing but a problem since day 1 of the install. This new printer is a good example of buyer's remose.

I really appreciate this post, as I am having identical issues. My other problem is, my printer won't even show up online in any of my settings or menus so I can't even try to fix it that way. Thank you for your note, as well, as I have been looking at other HP printers, but have yet to purchase one. With your review in mind and my suspicions confirmed, I will probably hold off! I love my OfficeJet 4655 and really hope it can be salvaged!

I have exactly the same problem with a printer screen that is blank and a printer that appears to be offline on my Mac. Can someone provide some helpful tips to troubleshoot this problem? I've already followed tips from Virtual Assistance, but it was useless. Wondering if the printer is repairable or a new printer is needed?
Thanks,
Raine

Hi Raine,
This is just my opinion but I have done all the same troubleshooting steps you have, but I have given up since this issue has persisted for months now. I am going to purchase a different printer from a different brand. Hopefully this helps, from someone who experienced the same issues.

I got a private note from an HP Support (legit) who suggested steps to get a case number assisgned etc. so that support could contact me. The warranty on this printer had expired so I'm simply thrown in a loop or the "other" option selection is currently not working. All I want is an authorized HP Repair location nearby where I can take the printer to be diagnosed as "repairable" or a "goner". Apparently HP is not interested in providing such services. Like you and others, I will be looking for another NON HP printer that has the same features. The one I bought from HP to replace the this printer is a dud. That warranty has almost expired but I continue to have problems with it and I'm tired of long sessions on the phone with HP. It doesnt help that they send replacement ink (the ink cartridges were defective and the replacements are also defective). I'm tech savvy but I'm exhausted from a company that doesn't really seem to care about their products.
