HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

HP OfficeJet 8015e is off line.   Cannot reset because touch screen displays message that print cartridges cannot be used until the printer is enrolled in instantInk which it is.  Since it is off line, instantInk cannot see it.  Cannot get rid of the message on the screen.  No blue light

Hi @rlmohl

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like your HP OfficeJet 8015e is stuck in a loop due to the Instant Ink enrollment and offline issue.

Let's try these steps to resolve it:

1. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Since there's no blue light, the printer is not connected to Wi-Fi. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.

If your router supports WPS, press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes to reconnect the printer to your network.

2. Check Instant Ink Enrollment

Log in to your HP Instant Ink account and ensure the printer is listed as active.

If the printer is offline in your account, try removing and re-adding it.

3. Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any temporary glitches.

4. Reinstall the Cartridges

Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.

Reinsert them firmly and ensure they click into place.

5. Update Printer Firmware

If possible, connect the printer to a computer via USB and use the HP Smart app to check for firmware updates.

6. Factory Reset the Printer

If the issue persists, perform a factory reset:

On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.

Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi and re-enroll it in Instant Ink.

If the printer still shows as offline, here are some steps to troubleshoot and bring it back online:

Check Printer Connection

Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

If the blue wireless light is off or blinking, reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi:

Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.

Use the WPS button on your router (if available) to reconnect.

Set Printer as Default

On your computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.

Select your printer, click Manage, and set it as the default printer.

Clear Print Queue

Open the Control Panel and navigate to Devices and Printers.

Right-click your printer, select See what's printing, and clear any stuck print jobs.
