My HP OfficeJet Pro Printer randomly stopped working and when I try to print anything it says "An ethernet cable has not been detected" error. It was working perfectly fine yesterday then says this today.
I already did a factory rest on it twice and that's not working. If I try to connect it to the wifi it doesn't give me the option to do anything it just says "IP Address Not Connected" and gives me the ethernet cable error message again.

Hi @tridetrues,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer suddenly stops working as expected. Here are a few questions to help narrow down the issue:
- Did you previously use the printer with an Ethernet cable, or has it always been connected via Wi-Fi?
- Have there been any recent changes to your network, such as a new router, updated Wi-Fi credentials, or ISP maintenance?
- When you attempt to connect to Wi-Fi, does the printer detect your network during the setup process, or does it fail to show any networks at all?
- Are there any blinking or solid lights on the printer's network indicator (if applicable), and do they correspond to an error code or status?
Troubleshoot the wired network connection
- Make sure you are using an undamaged Ethernet cable, check for a green light near the Ethernet port on the printer, and then print a report to verify the connection.
- Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the Ethernet cable from the router and the printer.
- Check the cable for damage, and then verify that it is an Ethernet cable and not a phone cable.
- Note:
- Ethernet and phone cables look similar, but Ethernet cables are usually bigger and have eight visible wires on the connector.
- Reconnect the cable to a different Ethernet or LAN port on the router, and then connect the other end to the printer's Ethernet port
.
- Turn on the printer.
- Check the lights on the printer's Ethernet port to make sure the connection is successful. The green light should be steady, and the orange activity light should blink.
- Print a Network Configuration Report.
- HP Smart app: From the app home screen, click the image of your printer, click Printer Reports under Tools, and then select Network Configuration Report.
- Printers with a touchscreen control panel: On the control panel, open the Wireless or Network Settings menu, and then select Network Configuration Report or Network Configuration Page.
HP printers without a touchscreen control panel: On the control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Information
buttons. Printing reports from the control panel can vary by printer model.
Depending on your printer, another method might be:
Press the Wireless and Resume/Cancel
buttons at the same time.
Press and hold the Information button until all buttons light up, and then press and hold the Resume button
or press the Information
Resume
buttons.
Press and hold the Resume button ( or
) until the Ready light
blinks.
Make sure the Network Status is Ready, or follow any instructions to resolve network issues identified on the report.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

It's always been a wireless connection and there are no changes to the wifi or anything else. It was working one day and then the next say was giving me that error. There are no blinking lights. I'm not able to connect to any wifi network at this time. It won't even let me, it just says an ethernet cable has not been detected.
