HP Officejet 5740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

my HP Officejet 5740 which is connected wirelessly and is still printing fine

but will not scan to email.

I get a message that the scanner cannot connect to Web Services.

I have checked settings and Time/Date and nothing changed, it

still does not work.

This used to work since i got the printer four years ago and

only stopped working about six months ago.

I tried reinstalling the software etc but that did not help,

Please advise me how to fix this.

Thanks an regards

Daniel

Hi

I decided to have a go at fixing it while I waited so I did a factory reset;

reinstalled the software,  set the time and dates and email address.

The scan to email is now working.

Cheers

Hi @hi251,

I'd like to help!

I understand you would like to perform factory defaults on the printer.

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

To restore the printer to the original factory defaults

1. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, swipe left to see ( Setup ) and touch ( Setup ).

2. Touch Tools, touch Restore Factory Defaults, and then follow the onscreen instructions

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
