I have owned an Officejet 6600 for a few years. I changed security settings on my router and now the printer will not connect to the internet.  I've tried adding it manually to the router settings and that hasn't worked. Any suggestions. I have a D link router. Connection type  is DHCP.

Hi @Willypress,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble connecting your HP Officejet 6600 printer to Wi-Fi. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Restart your printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check Wi-Fi settings: Make sure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues. If necessary, restart your Wi-Fi router or modem.
  • Verify printer settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wi-Fi or Network settings menu. Ensure that the wireless option is enabled and that the printer is set to connect to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Reset network settings: If you have previously connected the printer to a different Wi-Fi network, you may need to reset the network settings. On the printer's control panel, find the "Restore Network Defaults" or "Reset Network Settings" option and select it. This will clear any saved network settings and allow you to set up the connection again.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Once you have reset the network settings or if you are setting up the printer for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions on the printer's control panel to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure you enter the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  • Update printer firmware: Visit the HP support website and search for your printer model. Look for any available firmware updates and follow the instructions provided to update the printer's firmware. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
  • Use a USB connection: As a temporary workaround, you can connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable. This will allow you to print while you troubleshoot the Wi-Fi connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
