HP Officejet Pro 8028e stopped printing Word documents today

In preparation for a meeting yesterday, I printed Word docs, pdfs, and Excel spreadsheets.  This morning, I can print pdfs and Excel documents, but I can't print Word documents.  I tried 3 different Word docs, and I couldn't print any of them.  I've re-booted both my HP laptop and the printer, but nothing helped.  The printer is present in Settings and is selected as the default printer.  I have not had any problems before in printing Word docs.  I've had this printer for over a month.  Any suggestions?

It is possible that the issue is within the printer driver and that Word is the first to "feel the effects".

It is possible that the print driver is perfectly fine (healthy and functional) and that the source of the issue is within the document set, the Word template, or the Office software.

Bypass the testing to make sure the issue is not in the Windows / Office environment.

Try...

• Uninstall the printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
• Restart the computer and log in
• Install fresh copy of the full driver printer software
