Ultimately, I found the right answer. After multiple attempts to reset the printer and the router, I got the correct answer from an AI. If you have an Xfinity XB8 router that replaced an XB7--or anything similar--the problem has to do with the default WPA settings on the router. The newer routers, apparently, use WPA3 and the older printers are not capable of handling it. What I had to do was go to my cell phone Xfinity app, go to WiFi, Wifi Details, edit Wifi Settings, and then change the default WPA3 to WPA2. If you go through such a sequence, I would recommend waiting a bit because your router might reset. In case it does, be sure you have the routers factory SSID and password handy (they're usually on the bottom of the router). Once your router is copacetic with its new security settings, reset the printer's network settings to the factory default. It probably wouldn't hurt to shut it down (power switch), unplug it for 15 seconds, and then restart it. After the printer is restarted, the WiFi setup should work as promised, and you'll be up and printing again. Hope this has been helpful.
