Hi,
I hope you all are good and healthy. I have HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2xxx (green keyboard) which I bought 8 months ago.
It had windows 11 pre-installed and I faced two major issues in it:
- Worst battery backup
- Wifi disconnection issue: which won't even reconnect and had to disable/enable wireless module from device manager for workaround. (Most annoying problem)
To tackle those major issues i was suggested to install windows 10 instead of using windows 11 as it has many bugs. After installing windows 10 (genuine), major issues were resolved including battery backup which still sometimes give uncertain backup but could be due to background hidden processes (AV etc)..
- Wi-Fi is somehow still problematic as my game lags (Black Ops 2, Dota 2). my internet service is perfect and works fine on all other devices without any lag.
- Wifi gets disabled for 2-10 seconds and will automatically start working (reconnects...)
So, I need support or guidance on point number 2 which is still giving me problem especially during my online work, all my browser tabs get disconnected due to loss of signal (Wi-Fi disconnect) for few seconds. My laptop specs are mentioned below, please give me a concrete solution or answers because I'm also from IT and have tried everything possible which is mentioned on the internet. windows update, network reset. . .
Note: I randomly face Wi-Fi issue, but I feel that it's an issue with this laptop model because the packet loss/ ping loss during games is clearly indicating it. and NO, I have not tried using LAN cable,
Last two incidents of Wi-Fi disconnections were faced on battery backup, but I play games with its charger connected to laptop with max performance.
It would be really helpful if someone could answer me properly. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thank you for your detailed response I actually learned how to use gaming mode in windows 10. Thank you for that!
Although, it may seem driver issue, but my drivers are up to date, you may see below snapshot of HP assistant & windows update for reference. Still, I downloaded it again but during installation it said I already have updated version of HP support assistant installed on my laptop.
Today, I faced a different and more problematic issue (laptop was on battery, working perfectly fine on battery). My Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working and when I opened connections, my Wi-Fi router was available in the list but unable to connect (other neighbors' devices were not showing, which normally does). Later it was resolved by disabling & enabling wireless adapter from Device Manager.
Below are the pictures of the incident of Wi-Fi disconnectivity. Please help me out, as this issue is really interrupting my office work.
To make sure, I checked my router and other devices, and internet was working fine on other devices.
- Below snapshot was taken after I turned on and turned off AIRPLANE Mode.
- Below snapshot was taken after disabling & enabling wireless adapter from DEVICE MANAGER.
I hope the information is complete now, please guide what to do.
This is a new laptop and i use it with extreme care, no physical damage or harsh usage. Even I make sure that power plug is properly connected to avoid any issue. Normally people leave AC adapter plug loose which makes weird electrical noises.
Kindly help me out, this post may be helpful for other users as well.
