Moved to a new city. Printer always was able to connect to the internet with no problems. In new home, it sees the network and I enter the password, but connection fails. Called internet provider but they could not solve the problem and said I should contact HP, but it is out of warranty, so no support. I tried every way to connect, but nothing works.

Hello @DavidGM, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP Photosmart 6525 e-All-in-One Printer to your new Wi-Fi network after moving. Let's walk through some steps to get your printer reconnected.
Restart Everything
- Power off your printer, router, and computer/mobile device.
- Wait 30 seconds, then power on the router first.
- Once the router is fully up, turn on the printer and your device.
Check Wi-Fi Network Compatibility
- Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network. The Photosmart 6525 does not support 5 GHz.
- If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one SSID, try separating them temporarily.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Wireless > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your network name (SSID) and enter the password carefully (case-sensitive).
- If it fails, try moving the printer closer to the router during setup.
Reset Network Settings (Optional)
If the above doesn’t work:
- Go to Setup > Wireless > Restore Network Defaults.
- Then repeat the Wireless Setup Wizard steps.
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page and search for your printer model.
- Download and install the latest firmware using a USB connection if Wi-Fi isn’t working.
Additional Tips
- Avoid special characters in your Wi-Fi password if possible.
- Ensure MAC address filtering is not enabled on your router (or add the printer’s MAC address to the allowed list).
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!

Thanks! Most of the things I have tried multiple times. I will try the Update Printer Firmware next. Xfinity says they do not do MAC address filtering, but getting to one of their support people is nearly impossible, so I cannot be sure that is true or not.

It did not work. I am sick of trying. This worked fine before we moved. Now I am having a problem with my brand-new HP Laser Printer and there is no option for phone support that I can find. I have spent HOURS on HP sites in a never-ending loop. It literally says "How would you like to connect with us?" but there is NO option to connect to anyone but a virtual assistant that CANNOT understand the problem.
