Is there a way to reset the HP Photosmart 7520 to factory setting to start over new?  Can’t get it to connect to my internet provider.

Hi @KmAllyn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how frustrating it can be when your HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer refuses to connect to your internet provider, especially when all you want is a fresh start. Let’s reset things and get you back on track.

How to Reset Your HP Photosmart 7520 to Factory Defaults

Resetting your printer to factory settings can help clear out old network configurations and start fresh.

Steps to Restore Factory Defaults:

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. On the home screen, tap the Settings icon (gear symbol).
  3. Scroll down and tap Tools.
  4. Tap Restore Factory Defaults.
  5. Confirm the reset when prompted.

This will erase all custom settings, including Wi-Fi credentials, and return the printer to its original state.

After Reset: Reconnect to Wi-Fi

Once reset, follow these steps to reconnect:

  1. On the printer’s touchscreen, tap Wireless > Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password carefully.
  4. Wait for the confirmation message: Connected.

If your network doesn’t appear:

  • Make sure your router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz, as older printers may not support 5 GHz.
  • Move the printer closer to the router.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
