Every time I go to use my printer it it is offline, and i have to turn off and power back up, how do I get it to recognise without having to do this each time?  Can I do this on the HP smart app?

I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP ENVY 6032e keeps going offline and needs to be powered off and on each time. Let’s fix that so your printer stays online and ready to print when you need it.

Set Printer to Use a Static IP Address

This prevents the printer’s IP from changing, which often causes offline issues.

Using HP Smart App:

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your PC or phone.
  2. Click on your printer > Advanced Settings (opens Embedded Web Server).
  3. Go to Network > Network Settings > Wireless > IPv4 Configuration.
  4. Select Manual IP > click Suggest a Manual IP Address > then click Apply.

Set the Printer as Default & Disable "Use Printer Offline"

  1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  2. Right-click your HP ENVY 6032e > choose Set as default printer.
  3. Right-click again > select See what’s printing.
  4. In the new window, click Printer on the top menu.
  5. Make sure "Use Printer Offline" is unchecked.

Reinstall the Printer Using HP Smart

Sometimes a clean reinstall helps:

  1. Remove the printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Restart your PC.
  3. Download and install the latest HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  4. Re-add the printer using Wi-Fi setup.

Optional: Enable "Wake on LAN" (if supported)

This helps the printer wake up when a print job is sent.

  1. Access the printer’s Embedded Web Server via IP address.
  2. Go to Settings > Power Management.
  3. Enable Wake on LAN or Network Wakeup if available.
