I am running Mac el capitan OS 10.11.6 , hp smart app working correctly but then after the updates printer stopped working , so i uninstalled HP software and reinstalled software but now i do not have the HP Smart app anymore, I only have two separate software , the printer one and the scanner one. it is difficult now to do printing and scanning as i have to close one down to use the other.
To say the least it is VERY ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING AS I HAVE HAD 9 MINI & 1 MINOR STROKE

Hi,
HP Smart is supported on macOS 10.13 or later and incompatible with El Capitan indeed.
From your Downloads folder delete any existing download of HP Easy Start, having an older version will cause such an error as you describe.
Next, be sure to download HP Easy Start using Safari and follow it to install your printer. as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.
Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

FAO TEJ1602 thank you for that ,BUT UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE ALREADY GONE THRU THAT PROCESS AND as i click on your link it will not start set up TELLS ME THAT i NEED MAC OX 10.13.6 , I HAVE MAC OS 10.11.6 I need the software from HP For my HP Envy 4527 for my MAC CAPITAN AX 10.11.6.
This was put in my original post which you have COMPLETELY IGNORED.

Sorry about the inconvenience caused. The OS installed on your computer does not support HP Smart App like mentioned. HP Smart is compatible with Mac OS 10.13 and above.
Use the link https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip to download and install the printer software.

Well, what can i say about this.My printer is connected to my Mac El Capitan os 10.11.6 and is working after a fashion,BUT i do not see the easy start app on my mac like i used to do,and what i have on my Apple IPhone 7 and Ipad but these to are kept upto date with the latest update ,but i am unable to update my mac any further ,unless i spend several £'s to do so
