Ever since a software update a few days ago I am having printing issues. I tried uninstalling the printer, reinstalling, also reset the wifi wizzard, printing is random. So if I print from the internet it doesn't print. If I print from my email it prints the email but not the attachment. Getting very frustrated, as I am a Realtor that works remotely and I depend on my printer to do my job. VERY VERY FRUSTRATED. These software updates always cause issues.
I saw this message, which says the following. I take it that lots of people are having similar issues.'
"Windows update impacting certain printer icons and names. Microsoft is working on a solution.

Hi @ROSH777,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Smart Tank 530 printer after a recent software update. It's understandable that this would be causing frustration, especially if your work relies heavily on being able to print documents reliably.
Here are a few steps you might consider to try to resolve the issue:
- Check for Updates: Sometimes, updates can cause issues, but they can also fix them. Make sure your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. You can usually do this through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP website.
- Printer Troubleshooter: Windows often comes with built-in troubleshooters that can diagnose and fix common printing problems. You can access these by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Printer and running the troubleshooter.
- Reinstall Printer Drivers: Completely uninstall the printer and its drivers from your computer and then reinstall them. Sometimes, a fresh installation can resolve issues caused by corrupted driver files.
- Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your network and that there are no issues with the Wi-Fi connection. Sometimes, unstable connections can cause printing problems.
- Temporary Workaround: While waiting for a permanent solution, you might consider using alternative methods for printing, such as transferring documents to a different device with a stable printing environment.
Regarding the message you saw about a Windows update impacting printer icons and names, it seems like Microsoft is aware of the issue and working on a solution. Keeping your system up to date with the latest Windows updates might eventually resolve this problem once Microsoft releases a fix.
I hope one of these suggestions helps you resolve your printing issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
