My network name changed and I need to reconnect my 6000 series injet printer. I have followed the instructions in the app and it doesn't find the printer. The next step it tells me to go to my settings on my iphone and select the hp-setup wifi network. The hp-setup wifi network does not appear as a network option. The printer however does show up, so its broadcasting wifi.

HI @Martininalaska,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 6000 series inkjet printer is not showing the hp-setup Wi-Fi network and you’re unable to reconnect it to your new network, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Ensure Printer is in Setup Mode
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
- If the hp-setup network doesn’t appear, you may need to manually activate the wireless setup mode. Check your printer's manual for specific instructions, but usually, you can do this by pressing and holding the wireless button (sometimes indicated by an icon with a signal) for about 5 seconds.
2. Verify Printer’s Wi-Fi Status
- On the printer’s display, navigate to the Wireless or Network menu and select Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup.
- Some printers allow you to print a network configuration page that shows the status of the wireless connection. This can provide information on whether the printer is in setup mode.
3. Connect to the Printer’s Temporary Network
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- If the hp-setup network is not visible, ensure that your iPhone’s Wi-Fi is enabled and that you are within range of the printer.
- If you still don’t see the hp-setup network, try turning off Wi-Fi on your iPhone and turning it back on to refresh the list of available networks.
4. Reset Network Settings on Printer
- Reset Wireless Settings:
- On the printer, go to the Wireless or Network menu, look for an option to Restore Network Settings or Reset Network Settings, and select it. This will clear the previous network configurations and allow the printer to broadcast the hp-setup network again.
5. Use HP Smart App
- Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed on your iPhone. Open the app.
- In the HP Smart app, tap Add Printer. The app should search for printers on the network. If the hp-setup network is broadcasting, the app should eventually detect it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the HP Smart app to connect your printer to your new Wi-Fi network.
6. Manually Configure Wi-Fi Settings
- If the printer has an IP address assigned, you can access the Embedded Web Server by entering the IP address into a web browser. This may allow you to manually configure the Wi-Fi settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
