Hello! I recently bought HP 580 Smart Tank and I have been trying to pair with my HP laptop. I am 100% certain they are connected over the same network but it fails. Error on smart app says my computer was connected to a different network. Please send help. Thank you!

Hi @Ehreeka,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Network Configuration
- Verify that both the printer and the laptop are indeed connected to the same WiFi network.
- Sometimes, connecting to different frequency bands (e.g., 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz) can cause issues. Make sure both devices are on the same band if your router supports dual-band.
Restart Devices and Network Equipment
- Turn off your printer, laptop, and router for 60 seconds and then turn them back on. This can clear any network glitches.
Validate Network Settings on Printer
- Use the printer's control panel to verify the network settings.
- Make sure the network name (SSID) and password are entered correctly.
Reconnect Printer to Network
- Disconnect the printer from the WiFi network and reconnect it.
- Use the HP Smart app to set up the printer again, ensuring that you select the correct network.
Use HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your laptop.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer. If it says your computer is on a different network, re-check the laptop's network connection.
Update Firmware and Drivers
Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
Firewall and Antivirus Settings
- Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the printer from connecting. Temporarily disable these and try connecting again.
I hope this helps.
