Hi @mikemolino,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Smart Tank 7300 Series printer isn't connecting to Wi-Fi, here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Basic Checks
Ensure Printer is Powered On:
- Confirm the printer is powered on and the control panel is responsive.
Verify Wi-Fi Signal:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and functioning. Check if other devices can connect to it.
Printer and Router Placement:
- Place the printer within 6–8 feet of the router for optimal connectivity.
Wi-Fi Band Compatibility:
- The HP Smart Tank 7300 supports 2.4 GHz networks but might not support 5 GHz. Ensure you're connecting to a 2.4 GHz network.
Troubleshooting Steps
Restart Devices:
- Power off the printer, router, and your computer.
- Turn the router back on, wait for it to stabilize, then turn on the printer.
Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer control panel:
- Navigate to Settings → Network Setup → Restore Network Settings.
- This resets the Wi-Fi configuration.
Reconfigure Wi-Fi Setup:
- Use the HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Select Add Printer and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer.
- Alternatively, use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer's control panel:
- Settings → Network Setup → Wireless Setup Wizard.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Connect the printer to your computer via USB temporarily.
- Use the HP Smart app or HP's website to check for and install firmware updates.
Advanced Steps
Router Configuration:
- Ensure the router is not blocking the printer's MAC address.
- Disable features like MAC filtering or enable the printer's MAC address in the router settings.
Disable VPN/Firewall:
- If you're using a VPN or firewall on your computer, temporarily disable it while setting up the printer.
Try Wi-Fi Direct:
- If standard Wi-Fi fails, you can use Wi-Fi Direct to print:
- On the printer, enable Wi-Fi Direct via Settings → Network Setup.
- Connect your device directly to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
