Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

Printer states it is online, but the computer can't find it or print (stating that the printer is offline) .  Any suggestions.  I have rebooted both computer and printer, checked the wireless, deleted the printer on my computer and tried to reload.   However then the computer can't find the printer to reload the s/w because it is offline.  Is this just built in HP obsolescence ?
