Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended
M110we
Microsoft Windows 11

portal.hpsmart.com claims that the printer is "Disconnected from Internet."

The printer is HP LaserJet M110we, connected to WiFi. Checking for firmware update through web interface works and returns "The printer is up to date. No new updates are available at this time." so it is obviously able to access the Internet.

This happened after replacing the computer. The printer worked for a while then stopped. The status is "Printer cannot print. A problem has occurred and you will be unable to print, except for printer reports, until the issue is resolved. Check your HP account for more information. To learn more, open the HP Smart app or visit www.hpsmart.com and sign in to your account."

Hi @optikato,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When you encounter an offline status on your HP LaserJet M110we printer, even though it is connected to WiFi and appears to be updated, it indicates a possible connectivity issue. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this:

Restart Devices:

  • Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

  • Router: Restart the router to refresh the network connection.

  • Computer: Restart the computer to ensure it is on the same network as the printer.

Check WiFi Connection:

  • Make sure the WiFi light on the printer is solid blue, indicating a proper wireless connection.

  • Verify that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.

Remove and Reinsert Ink Cartridges:

  • Turn on the printer and open the cartridge access area.

  • Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure they are properly seated in their slots.

Removing and reinserting the ink cartridge

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Confirm that the firmware is up-to-date via the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) or printer control panel.

Check for Web Services:

  • Access the EWS using the printer's IP address.

  • Ensure that Web Services are enabled from the EWS.

Check HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app and ensure the printer status is "Ready". If it displays "Offline," verify the connection settings.

Reset Web Services Connection:

  • Use the EWS to navigate to the Web Services tab.
  • Remove and then re-enable Web Services to refresh the connection.

Check the HP Smart Account Page:

  • Log into your HP Smart account and verify that the printer status shows "Ready to print" with a green icon.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Enabling Web Services in EWS was the key, although I don't need them.

Now the printer works and reports that it is connected to Internet.

Thanks!
