I just bought a new printer - OfficeJet 9025e
Installation on Windows was fast and easy.
Connection to HP Smart was confusing and difficult. Despite many tries, I could not get HP Smart to "find" the printer via ethernet at all. I only got it to work by unplugging my ethernet and moving all to WiFi so that HP Smart would recognize the printer. Now, I can only use HP Smart if my printer and computer are on WiFi. So, every time I want to scan something, I need to unplug the internet, start WiFi, turn on WiFi on my computer and scan.
How can I get HP Smart to be smart enough to recognize my printer when connected by ethernet?

Can it possibly be that HP Smart only works with wireless? Why do they even put an ethernet connection on the printer? This is such a pain. I have a fast ethernet connection but am being forced to go at 25% speed wireless. Someone please help!!!

Is there any other company that makes software that will scan to my computer so that I don't have to use HP Smart (which isn't so smart if it doesn't recognize an internet connection). All my other programs acknowledge an online and connected printer. Only HP thinks my printer is offline.
