Common problems for Connectivity Issues

HP Color Laser 150nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Smart does not recognise my HP Color Laser 150 conncted via WiFi and USB but idnetifies it as a completely different printer and at an IP address not being used.

At some point it demanded a PIN whioch supposedly is on the flap which you oen to put in new cartridges but my HP laser printer has only Serial no and mOdel no- nothing ese.

If HP Smart is not recognizing your HP Color Laser 150 printer correctly and is identifying it as a different printer with an incorrect IP address, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Ensure Printer Connectivity:

  • Make sure your HP Color Laser 150 printer is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device running HP Smart.
  • Verify that the printer is connected securely via USB if you're using a wired connection.

2. Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and mobile device.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on.
  • Open HP Smart on your device and check if the printer is recognized correctly.

3. Update HP Smart and Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of HP Smart installed on your computer or mobile device.
  • Check for firmware updates for your HP Color Laser 150 printer on the HP Support website and install them if available.

4. Reinstall HP Smart:

  • If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling HP Smart on your device.
  • After reinstalling, open HP Smart and attempt to set up your printer again.

5. Check Printer Information:

  • Verify that the printer information displayed in HP Smart matches the actual model and IP address of your HP Color Laser 150 printer.
  • If the information is incorrect, try removing the printer from HP Smart and adding it again.

6. Locate the Printer PIN:

  • Look for the printer PIN on the product label or packaging that came with your HP Color Laser 150 printer.

It has not worked but I can tell you that the HP SMart Tank printer does appear on Netwrok- I am usuing WiFi provided by my building and someone else may hav ethis printer.

HOWEVER my HP Color laser 150 appears on the network and on HP PEasy Printer Manager as WiFI and USB but HP Smart cannot find them.

 

My big problem is 'ghosting' - faint repeat print despite Embedded Wen page saying that the image drum is fine.
