HP Tango
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I can no longer print from my Macbook Pro to my HP Tango.  I was printing fine and all of a sudden it stopped finding the printer.   But I can print from my phone, IMac and my daughter can print from her chromebook.  I followed a bunch of the troubleshooting instructions and nothing works.  I reset the printers and tried to add it back, but it says unable to verify the printer and won't add it.  I printed all of the test and info pages from the printer and it says it's online and has a strong signal.  I tried rebooting everything.   Made sure all updates are installed.  Made sure everything is on the same network.   I downloaded the HP Smart app to my desktop and it says the Printer Status is unknown for the Tango on the MacBook.   But if I open the HP Smart app on my phone or iMac it says the printer is online.  And it allows me to print the documents that I tried to print from the macbook.    Not sure what else to try.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Are the printer and Mac connected to the same network?

Is there antivirus software installed on your Mac?

Could you perform a ping test and let me know the results? Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display.

Perform a ping test to check the connectivity

  1. Click Applications > Utilities > Terminal.
  2. type ping "IP address" and press enter

Wait until 10 pings have been performed and then press ctrl c on the keyboard and hit return.

The results will appear.

 Share the ping test results.

Meanwhile:-

Update the printer firmware

Here are the steps:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
