Hello. Yesterday the printer started up on it's own and printed the page below. I did not request this. Is HP now setting up stuff without my permission? I do not like this one bit.

@gtmalone, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
That is web-services. If you do not want it to be enabled on the printer, you may turn it off. It could have enabled when the latest firmware was installed on the printer.
Click here to know how to turn off web services.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the reply.
I turned off web services on the printer after the email was received. The problem I have is HP setting up something for my printer without prior notice. I don't want or need to have an email addr for the printer and certainly don't want HP or anyone setting up something like this without my consent or prior notice.

I understand. HP cannot make changes to your printer. HP can only push updates and that will be installed only if it is allowed by the user in printer settings when it is set to 'Automatic'.
Once you disable web services, you will have to do it manually.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.

I understand your reply but the point is HP shouldn't do that with permission. Additionally, I've had the printer for over 6 years add apparently web services has been on all that time. Why is HP just now setting this up? It doesn't make any sense.
