Do this:  (1) remove/delete the printer from Windows altogether, (2) pull the USB cable, (3) power off the PC, (4) reconnect the printer cable (in a different USB port on the PC, if possible - but not a hub!), (5) restart your PC.  Windows will (6) discover the printer; let Windows install it including the driver.  Then, (7) print a test page from Windows .  The sequence is important!

 

In this approach, you have flushed the printer from Windows and allowed it to manage the entire installation.  Do not use any of the HP software, at least not yet.
