Hello, i've been using this printer for years with wifi, we moved 2 years ago and there was no issue with setting up that connection either, however bc of a network provider issue they sent a different router so the settings changed. i didn't need to use the printer for a while but now i'm trying to set up the changed connection and it just doesn't work at all.
i tried:
- using the wireless setup wizard - it can't find my wifi ssid (needless to say ssid broadcast is on in the router settings and no other mobile device has any issue with finding it), when i enter it manually it still says it can't find it but i can proceed anyway entering the password and it tries to connect, it doesn't work and just times out (i reset the network connection settings, restarted the printer and router too, i put the printer less than 1m away from the router in case distance is the issue even though it worked normally with the previous router at the original place before)
- using the wps option - i'm pressing the button on the router but the printer doesn't react, just times out after 2 minutes and asks me to retry or go back
- downloaded the app on my android phone and tried setting up the printer from there - it just can't find my device despite it being powered on, my phone having location and bluetooth on and their permissions allowed, no matter how many times i try it
i tried using my phone's connection as a hotspot and while seemingly that setup worked, it can't connect to the app bc the app wants the user to connect to a wifi exclusively and it won't set the printer up if both devices aren't connected to the same network.
i wanted to try the wps pin setup but my router doesn't have an option like that, it only has a list of users who are allowed to use the wifi connection, i added the printer's mac address to it but as everything else, it didn't work
this model doesn't have an ethernet cable port so i can't use that and i lost the printer cable when moving so that's not an option either.
my pc has windows 10 64bit and the hp smart app shows the printer as offline there too, i removed it from my devices and tried to set it up again but it also can't find the printer, even with the hostname entered.
please help, i don't understand what the issue is, i tried every possible solution on the hp site but nothing works.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Are the printer and PC connected to the same network?
- Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual-band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.
- What is the distance between the router and the printer?
- What's the Wi-Fi light status on the Printer(Blinking or Steady)?
Keep me posted for further assistance.
