W10 is not supported on any dv6 model series so sometimes things like that will happen, and there will be no fix for it-especially if it has one of the Ralink model Wi-Fi adapters.

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook have?

Sorry don't  know I guess mine was a ralink.

I'd like to be sure.

Please post the product number of your notebook.

To find the product number for your PC, click on the search icon on your Windows taskbar.

Type: System Information

The System information app should show up.

Run the app and the product number of your PC will be found on the System SKU line about 1/4 of the way down on the report.

Post the product number you find there.

Unfortunately, as luck would have it, that product number does not exist in HP's PartSurfer database.

The only other way you can find out what model Wi-Fi adapter it has is to look on the bottom of the case and there should a a FCC-ID number listed which would be the model of the Wi-Fi adapter.

Otherwise, you will have to open the access panel on the bottom of the notebook and get the model off the Wi-Fi card itself.

Worst-case scenario is you buy a dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter.

I wish I knew the model number of the PC because if it is one that has an Intel 3rd generation core processor, you should be able to replace/upgrade the existing Wi-Fi card with a better one.

If it is an older model # the Wi-Fi card can't be replaced with a different model due to the older models having a BIOS whitelist that prevents the notebook from even booting up if an unsupported Wi-Fi adapter is installed.
