HP Deskjet F4180 All-in-One Printer

First of all I am not very knowledgeable about computers. This is probably why the HP ePrint screen just appeared one day (probably more than a year ago now) when I wanted to print a document from a website. I can still print whatever I have saved or downloaded to my hard drive. What do I need to input on the ePrint screen to get it to allow me to print from a website?

I won't even ask why this screen came up, I used to be able to print from websites without a problem.

Hi @Mark704,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your printer may be set up for HP ePrint, which allows you to print from anywhere by sending an email to your printer's email address. However, if the HP ePrint screen is suddenly appearing when you try to print from a website, it might be due to a change in your printer settings or a recent update.

To troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue, here are some steps you can try:

  • Check Printer Settings: Make sure that your printer is still connected to your network and is set up correctly. You can do this by accessing your printer's settings menu, usually through its control panel or by accessing its settings page via a web browser using its IP address.
  • Print From Browser Menu: Instead of clicking the regular print button on the webpage, try using the browser's print option from the menu. Usually, you can find this under the File menu or by pressing Ctrl + P (Cmd + P on Mac). This should bring up the standard print dialog without triggering HP ePrint.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date. You can usually find the latest drivers on the HP website. Download and install them if needed.
  • Reset Printer: Sometimes, a simple power cycle or resetting the printer to its factory settings can resolve unexpected issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Disable HP ePrint (Temporary): If none of the above steps work and you just need to print from websites temporarily, you can try disabling HP ePrint. Access your printer's settings either through the control panel or the web interface, and look for an option to disable HP ePrint.

Hopefully, one of these steps resolves the issue and allows you to print from websites as you did before.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
