iOS
  • I am using a HP envy inspire 7200e and I am trying to set it up with my I-phone using iOS 17.7. No matter what I do I cannot get my phone to detect the printer. I even put in the IP. It shows it’s connected to the internet on the printer and it prints details about HP network configuration page. I don’t know what else to do. I have deleted and re downloaded the app and turned everything on and off again.

Hi @LG423423-LG4234,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy Inspire 7200e isn't being detected by your iPhone, despite being connected to the internet and printing network configuration details, here are a few additional steps you can try.

Check Printer and iPhone are on the Same Wi-Fi Network

  • Ensure that both your printer and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Double-check the Wi-Fi name on both devices.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • On the printer, go to the Network Settings and select Restore Network Settings. After resetting, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Try using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) by pressing the WPS button on your router and the corresponding option on your printer.

Forget the Network on Your iPhone

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap on your Wi-Fi network, and select Forget This Network. Then reconnect to the Wi-Fi.

Enable AirPrint

  • Ensure that AirPrint is enabled on your HP Envy Inspire 7200e. It’s usually turned on by default, but you can check via the printer’s web interface:
    • Enter the IP address of the printer (from the network configuration page) into your browser.
    • Once in the printer’s settings, look for AirPrint and ensure it's enabled.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Your printer might require a firmware update. In the HP Smart app, go to Printer Settings and check for any firmware updates.

Direct Wireless Printing

  • Try using Wi-Fi Direct, which allows a direct connection between your printer and iPhone without needing a network.
    • Enable Wi-Fi Direct on your printer (check the user manual for how to do this).
    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the Wi-Fi Direct network (usually "HP-Print-xx-ENVY-Inspire-7200e").
    • Try printing from your iPhone via AirPrint while connected to this network.

Reset Network Settings on iPhone

  • As a last resort, you can try resetting your network settings on your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network configurations on your phone but won't delete any data.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
