New Xfinity router and 2.4 ghz network name.  Printer finds network name, but when password typed in get message that "HP printer unable to connect with wireless router".  Everything else in house connects perfectly.  Have tried all SOPs found on internet and nothing works.  Before new router, printer was working perfectly.  Anyone have a solution?

Hi @visionatsea,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Verify Network Details:

  • Double-check that you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password. Passwords are case-sensitive.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off the printer, router, and any connected devices.
  • Wait for a minute, then turn the router back on, followed by the printer.

Network Configuration:

  • Ensure the printer is configured to use the 2.4 GHz network as it does not support 5 GHz connections.

Reset Networking Settings on Printer:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to the Setup menu.
  • Select Network > Restore Network Defaults.

Run Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • From the printer control panel, select the Wireless icon.
  • Go to Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure that the printer and router are within reasonable proximity.
  • Avoid physical obstructions and electronic devices that might interfere with the wireless signal.

Print Network Configuration Page:

  • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to ensure it reflects the correct network settings.

Firmware Upgrade:

  • Check for any firmware updates for your HP printer which might address connectivity issues.

Assign a Static IP:

  • Go to your router’s settings and assign a static IP address to the printer. Use the router interface (often accessible at addresses like 192.168.1.1) for this configuration.

I hope this helps.
