Hi @Glynn1964,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The blue circled exclamation mark next to your HP 2800 printer's name on your iPad typically indicates a connection or configuration issue. Here's how to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPad.
    • Go to the printer's control panel and check the Wi-Fi connection status.
    • If the printer is not connected to the correct Wi-Fi network, reconnect it to the correct network.

2. Restart Printer and iPad:

  • Steps:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
    3. Restart your iPad by holding the power button and sliding to power off, then turn it back on.

3. Check for Printer Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date, as outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.
  • Steps:
    1. Open the HP Smart app on your iPad or another device.
    2. Check for any available firmware updates and install them.

4. Re-add the Printer on the iPad:

  • Steps:
    1. Open Settings on your iPad.
    2. Go to Bluetooth and make sure it’s turned off (to avoid any interference).
    3. Go to Wi-Fi and ensure the iPad is connected to the same network as the printer.
    4. Go to AirPrint or Printer & Scanner Settings and remove the HP 2800 printer.
    5. Re-add the printer by selecting it from the available devices.

5. Use the HP Smart App:

  • The HP Smart app can help with setup and troubleshooting.
  • Steps:
    1. Download the HP Smart app from the App Store if you haven’t already.
    2. Open the app and follow the prompts to reconnect and set up the printer.
    3. The app may also diagnose issues and suggest fixes.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Glynn1964,

Please find the next steps below.

6. Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • Resetting the network settings on the printer can help clear any connectivity issues.
  • Steps:
    1. On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Network Settings.
    2. Select Restore Network Defaults or a similar option.
    3. Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the printer's setup menu.

7. Ensure AirPrint is Enabled:

  • Make sure that AirPrint is enabled on the printer, as it's required for printing from iPads.
  • This can usually be found in the printer's settings menu under Network or Mobile Printing options.

8. Test Printing from Another Device:

  • If possible, try printing from another iOS device (like another iPad or iPhone) to see if the issue is specific to your iPad.

If after trying these steps the issue persists, the problem may be more complex, potentially involving deeper network or printer configuration issues. In that case, you may need to consult HP phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
