Bought an HP Envy 6555e Printer. Connected wirelessly to my older Lenova Yoga Laptop and my new Surface Pro tablet. Worked great. Moved homes and now only the Lenova will print. Surface Pro sees the printer but nothing happens when you opt to print and does not show in the printer que. Patience and lack of tech savy are also my challenges :). Hope someone can help.
Cheers

Hi @StevedK,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printing issues with the HP Envy 6555e and Surface Pro!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, Surface Pro tablet, and wireless router. Wait for about a minute before turning them back on. This can help resolve temporary connectivity issues.
Re-establish WiFi Connection:
- Ensure that your Surface Pro is connected to the correct WiFi network (the same one your printer is connected to).
- You can verify network settings by going into the Wi-Fi settings on your Surface Pro.
Update HP Smart App:
- Make sure the HP Smart app on your Surface Pro is up-to-date. You can check for updates in the Microsoft Store.
- If necessary, remove and reinstall the HP Smart app to fix potential app errors.
Check Printer Status:
- In the HP Smart app, check if the HP Envy 6555e is added and shows as 'Ready' or 'Connected'.
- If it’s not connected, select the option to add a printer again and follow the instructions to complete the setup.
Set Printer as Default:
- In your Surface Pro settings, navigate to 'Devices' → 'Printers & scanners'.
- Ensure the HP Envy 6555e is set as the default printer.
Clear Print Queue:
- Open the print queue on your Surface Pro and check for any stuck print jobs. Clear them if necessary.
Try a Test Print:
- Attempt to print a simple document from your Surface Pro after applying the above checks.
Troubleshoot via HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- You might also consider downloading and running HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. This tool can automatically fix many types of printing issues.
I hope this helps.
