As investigated by BruceWalkerToo (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/3724446), a large number of Samsung and HP printers have a firmware issue in their support for AirPrint that is manifesting itself in newer versions of Apple products.

The problem is a BIG problem as it wastes paper on a big scale when a simple one page printout may empty the paper feeder and printing a few charter each on the papers, wasting a big stack of paper as well as the inc used in the process.

As the problem manifests itself as intermittent, I have spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot the problem and wasting my time with "HP Smart" that just makes me feel stupid as I do not understand how to solve the problem with it.

Most of the printers may be out of support, but it would still make a lot of sense to get firmware updates to fix the problem as it seams to be a very small fix to correct the mDNS announcement for URF and UNICAST.

Can this be brought to HP Software team to fix this and provide firmware updates for the printers that have this issue?

Best regards
Hanz

PS. My printer model is HP Color Laser MFP 179nfw and firmware version is V3.82.01.16 AUG-11-2022, and this is also the latest I can find for download for my macOS 11 computer.
