Really getting frustrated now!!
I just want to know how I get the printer to wake up after it seems to go in to a standby sleep mode without having to pull the cable from the mains and reinsert.
I have tried several times to get this so called supprt page to accept the serial number it keeps asking for without success - still in warranty might not be when I throow it pot of the window....

Hi @Bleurk,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 2700 series computer is going to sleep and not waking up, there could be a few potential causes for this issue. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem.
- Check your power settings: Sometimes, the computer can go to sleep and not wake up due to incorrect power settings. To check your power settings, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings. Make sure that the settings are configured correctly and that your computer is set to never go to sleep.
- Update your drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can also cause sleep issues. To update your drivers, go to Device Manager, right-click on your computer's drivers, and select "Update Driver." Make sure to check for updates for all of your hardware components.
- Disable hibernation: Sometimes, hibernation can cause sleep issues. To disable hibernation, open Command Prompt as an administrator and type "powercfg -h off" (without the quotes). Press Enter to execute the command.
- Disable fast startup: Fast startup can sometimes cause issues with sleep mode. To disable fast startup, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable. Uncheck the "Turn on fast startup" option and click Save Changes.
- Check for malware: Malware can sometimes interfere with sleep mode. Run a malware scan using your antivirus software to check for any malicious software.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

HP2700 is a printer! Not a computer.
It's the printer going to sleep and not waking up. Not the PC!
in practice the only thing that seemsto work is Power printer off at the mains and back on again but that is inconsistent.
I like the quality of what it produces but I am wasting valuable time every time I want to print something.
