My print carriage is stuck to the far right of the printer. I cannot manually move it, either. We had a power outage, and it has been stuck since then. Any ideas of how to get it to move? I have looked closely and don't see any objects that would be preventing it from moving. I have tried powering off, unplugging, and powering back on, as well.

Hi @EM240,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A print carriage stuck on the far right of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer can be quite frustrating, especially after a power outage. Here are some steps you can follow to try to resolve the issue:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Power Off and Unplug:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds to allow the printer to completely power down.
Inspect for Obstructions:
- Open the printer and inspect the carriage path for any obstructions. Even small bits of paper or debris can cause the carriage to jam.
Check Carriage Latch:
- Ensure that the latch on the carriage (if your model has one) is securely in place. Sometimes, the latch can come loose and prevent the carriage from moving.
Manually Move the Carriage:
- With the printer still unplugged, gently try to move the carriage to the left. If it resists, do not force it. There might be something blocking it or the mechanism might be locked in place.
Reset the Printer:
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Listen for any unusual noises, which might indicate the carriage is trying to move but is stuck.
Check the Belt and Rollers:
- Inspect the belt and rollers that move the carriage. If they are misaligned or damaged, they could be causing the issue.
Use the Printer's Diagnostic Tools:
- Some HP printers have built-in diagnostic tools accessible through the printer’s menu or via the HP Smart app. Run these diagnostics to see if they can detect and resolve the issue.
Firmware Update:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can fix bugs that cause hardware issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
