Had loaded the HP smart app on my phone & laptop. Since I was having trouble with the printing issue, I uninstalled the HP smart app on my laptop & was going to reinstall. When I go to the play store for the app, it says it unable to install on my laptop. At a loss as how to resolve.

@Terri116, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here's a step-by-step plan to help get your HP DeskJet 3772 working with both your laptop and phone:
Step 1: Restart Everything
- Turn off your printer.
- Restart your laptop and phone.
- Unplug your router (wait 30 seconds) and plug it back in.
- Turn the printer back on after your Wi-Fi is up.
Step 2: Reinstall HP Smart on Your Laptop
If the Microsoft Store (not the Play Store – that’s for Android) isn’t letting you install HP Smart, try this:
- Go to the HP Smart download page.
- Download the installer directly for Windows.
- Right-click the installer > “Run as administrator.”
- Install and open HP Smart, then try to add your printer again.
If the Microsoft Store gives errors:
Run this command in PowerShell as Admin to reset the store:
- wsreset.exe
Then try again.
Step 3: HP Smart on Your Phone
- Make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled.
- Open HP Smart.
- Tap “+” or “Add Printer”, then choose your DeskJet 3772 from the list.
- If it doesn’t show up, go to the printer and:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons until the wireless light starts blinking. This resets wireless.
- Then try adding it again in HP Smart on your phone.
Step 4: Make Sure the Printer Is on the Same Wi-Fi
- Ensure both your laptop/phone and printer are on the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Avoid guest networks or using mobile hotspots.
Step 5: Try Printing
- Once the printer is added to HP Smart:
- Try printing a test page from both your laptop and phone.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
