Photoshop doesn't recognize the printer, what do I need to do in order for it to be recognized so I can scan documents directly from Photoshop?

By the way - I can print documents from my mac, though when I open the HP Easy Scan app, it doesn't recognize the printer either.

Specs: Mac OS 10.15, Photoshop 2021, HP Easy Scan Version 1.9.4 (200730)

Thanks in advance!

@Pashariko, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Re-install the printer using AirPrint driver

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

Note: Use Bonjour multifucntion.

6.) Try to print.

You may use any 1 method shown in this document to scan.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you Kumar for your reply. The latest driver offered is for Mac OS 10.12 which is a very old one.
My laptop's OS is 10.15, and my other mac OS is 10.13.

What is your advice to do next since there's no updated driver offered?

Thanks in advance for your help.

@zozo777, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Are you using a HP ENVY 114 e-All-in-One Printer?

If yes, then you are right. There are no drivers available on the HP site for macOS 10.13 or later. Kindly try to install the printer using the AirPrint driver as mentioned in my previous post.

Let me know how this goes.

Hi Kumar,

Thanks for your message. I tried to follow your steps but there's no Airprint option when I try to add a printer.
I do see my printer listed as ENVY 110 Series (Bonjour) but there's no Airprint under "Use". The only options available there are Auto Select, Select Software..., and Choose a Driver...
I've searched for Airprint and couldn't find anything under drivers and softwares.

What do you suggest I should do next?

Thanks in advance!

@zozo777

What happens when you select your printer that is listed and proceed with the installation?

You may select - Autoselect if required.

Keep me posted.
