Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

WiFi, fax, scan, email, etc icons are all missing from my HP OfficeJet 3962.  I usually printer from my phone and was unable to.  When I hit the WiFi button, it says “this feature has been disabled. Contact the person who set up the printer.”  I deleted the printer from my laptop and attempted to set up the printer again to see if that would  resolve the issue.  I have tried restoring, unplugging and diagnostics on the printer with the laptop.  Nothing has helped, thus far.  Please help to resolve the issues.  Thank you!

Hi @HeatherS115,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Administrator Settings:

  • If the printer indicates that the WiFi feature has been disabled, it might have been turned off by an administrator.
  • Access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer’s IP address into a web browser.
  • Navigate to the Network or Security settings to ensure WiFi is enabled.

Restore Network Settings:

  • Restore the printer’s network settings to factory defaults:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
    • Confirm the restoration process.

Reconnect WiFi:

  • Reconnect the printer to your WiFi network:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Follow the prompts to reconfigure the WiFi connection.

HP Smart App:

  • Use the HP Smart App to reconfigure your printer:
    • Download the HP Smart App on your mobile device or computer.
    • Follow the app’s instructions to add and configure your printer.

Check Software Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware and software are up-to-date:

Uninstall and Reinstall Printer Driver:

  • Remove and reinstall the printer driver on your computer:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
    • Locate your printer, select it, and then choose Remove device.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers and software for your printer model, then reinstall them.

I hope this helps.
