Am I right in thinking that you cannot get help from HP printers unless you pay for it. I'm getting rather sick of HP lately they're virtual assistant is absolutely useless you are ask her to question they say they will get it sorted out and someone will contact you and never do I've just had print cartridges which were HP cartridges and the printer did not recognise the cartridges so they had to send me new ones I cannot log in on my mobile phone to HP Smart because it just keeps asking me to log in Time After Time keeps going back to the same screen opening loads of screens. And now I'm told I cannot print a passport size picture on my printer. I don't think I'll be buying an HP printer again

Sure - it's possible to get frustrated when you don't get what you want.
Patience can wear thin when issues of different types seem to pile on top of each other.
==========================================
True - the standard hardware warranty on this printer is limited in scope.
What? Once the warranty is expired, HP Support normally charges for out-of-warranty support.
Normal operations.
==========================================
True - The HP Virtual Assistant is not true AI -- the answers it can provide are limited to those questions it can understand and those for which it has a stored answer in its database. True, too, not every question is one that the HPVA can answer -- re-asking, even using different words, might not work.
==========================================
True - If the connection to your mobile device (phone of unknown type) is supported but won't stay connected, it might be due to not having connected to the same network as the printer. If your device is connected to the same network as the printer, sometimes Restarting everything, including the router can reduce or eliminate sign-in issues.
==========================================
True - The printer is not aware of what it is printing.
What? Job configuration is driven by the application or software you are using to configure the print job.
The printer does not care about the size of your printed image -- the app or software must be capable of managing the setup.
Remote apps are generally less robust (fewer features) than those available in (for example) Windows.

Finally,
If you are ready to move on -- for whatever reason --
We don't judge.
When you replace your printer, be sure the warranty, the mobile apps, and the printer specifications, all support the environment you want to use.
