Hi @Naresh316,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP Ink Tank 316 printer does not support direct Wi-Fi connections, and it cannot be connected to a Wi-Fi network using an Ethernet cable, as it is designed primarily for USB connectivity. However, you can use the following methods to enable wireless printing.
Connect to a Wi-Fi Network via the HP Smart App
If your printer supports wireless connectivity (please check if your model includes this feature), you can connect it to your Wi-Fi network using the HP Smart app. Here’s how:
Download the HP Smart App:
- Install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
Set Up the Printer:
- Open the app and add your printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Use a Wireless Router:
If you have a wireless router, you can connect your printer to it wirelessly, assuming the printer has Wi-Fi capabilities:
Check for Wi-Fi Capability:
- Look for a wireless button on your printer. If it has one, it likely supports Wi-Fi connectivity.
Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi:
- Press the wireless button to enable Wi-Fi.
- Use the HP Smart app to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Use a Print Server:
If you need a wired connection, consider using a print server, which allows USB printers to connect to a network. Here's how:
Purchase a Print Server:
- Find a suitable print server that supports USB printers.
Connect the Printer:
- Connect your printer to the print server via USB.
- Connect the print server to your network via Ethernet.
Set Up the Print Server:
- Follow the print server's setup instructions to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Use USB Connection:
If wireless options are not feasible, you can always connect the printer directly to your computer using a USB cable for printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
